How You Gave Together in 2013

Andrew Shing January 31, 2014

Thanks for an incredible year

With 2014 well under way, we wanted to take a moment to thank you for changing the world with us and celebrate the impact we made together in 2013. Over the next couple of posts, we’ll share the numbers, stories, and highlights that marked an outstanding year.

Our biggest highlight begins with you and your generosity. Our community grew to nearly 9200 people in 2013, and you helped us process more gifts in 2013 than ever before. While the majority of you gave with credit card, we also processed gifts of cheques, publicly traded securities, private securities, and even life insurance policies.

Giving is better together

You’re a social bunch too. Many of you rallied together around causes important to you and made giving social and fun. Your efforts to bring charity into everyday life in creative, fun, and even tasty ways continues to surprise and make us smile!

High fives, hugs, and a gangnam style dance

On top of giving to charities and groups, you also gave thoughtfully to each other, empowering your friends and family to choose which causes to support. In your show of appreciation, more than 800 messages of thanks were shared among you, including a few fun ones like a gangnam style dance, a plate of shwarma, and this basketball inspired favourite: “head fake, crossover dribble, fade away jumpshot, nothing but net!”

You inspire us

Beyond the numbers, it’s your stories that inspire us most. Stories of giving back, stories of bringing friends and family together around important causes, and stories like the one Sarah shared with us in 2013.

And with that we want to say thanks. Thanks for giving, thanks for inspiring us, and thanks for choosing to let us be a part of your generosity. Chimp is here for world changers like you, and we can’t wait to help you manage and amplify your charitable impact in 2014!
