Why We Give Back
Now that you know how you like to give, let’s take a closer look at the “why” behind our charitable actions. The simple answer to why we give is: Because it feels good, both for the recipient and for the giver.

Giving to charity produces the same effect in the brain as eating chocolate or going for a run. A recent study on charitable giving showed that when people donated to a cause they cared about, the midbrain region of the brain lit up — which is the area in charge of pleasure and rewards.
